【英國。伯明翰】英國留學論文寫作指南 - How to improve critical thinking 我的逆襲之路 @ Yuki's Journey😘

剛到英國的我除了對任何事都很新鮮以外

最擔心的就是如何寫作業了，更不用說第三學期的論文...

第一學期我們修了三門必修課

分別是Marketing Strategy, Consumer Insight 以及 Communication

其中Communication的教授非常挑惕又嚴格

我記得當時我花最最多時間在這門課的作業上

結果還被當掉，差一分就及格...

但其他兩科的分數都挺高的

當時實在是很不解，一直想知道教授到底想要的是什麼

科普一下：英國的成績分為三個等級

50-59 Pass

60-69 Merit

70以上 Distinction

我Communication連Pass都沒有，其他兩科都有Merit

由於擔心被當無法畢業，於是我開始研究到底什麼是Critical Thinking

在圓夢計畫這篇我有提及：「在英國非常注重批判性思考

內容並不能只用描述的方式寫進報告中

還要找出其中的問題並相關的文獻佐證來支持你的論點進行層層分析

再給出自己的意見與批判」

一般來說2-3000字的報告還能應付

但是要面對12000字的論文

到底要怎麼做到Critical Thinking... 當時的我真的很頭疼

由於我第一學期的成績被Communication拉下來

總平均才58分，連基本的60都沒有...

到底二學期，報告增加三倍的量也變得更忙碌

但汲取上次的教訓，這次不但不能再被當掉，至少平均也要拿個65

皇天不服苦心人，第二學期總平均有達到了

我會這麼在意是因為畢業證書上都會寫我們的成績等級

而我所在的伯明翰大學，每位學生都會被分配一位導師並進行五次論文指導會議

我覺得我挺幸運的地方是

我被分配到的導師很好溝通，也很積極的給我許多意見和鼓勵

並且回覆信件也非常的有效率

而論輪總共有五大部分

1. Introduction 10%

2. Literature Review 30%

3. Methodology 10%

4. Finding 10%

5. Discussion 30%

6. Conclusion 10%

7. Reference (字數不計入)

基本上的Discussion部分是必須要和Literature Review做前後呼應及對照的

而研究方法你可以選擇做定性研究(qualitative research)或定量研究(quantitative research)

qualitative research就是要做找人訪問，依照訪問出來的結果用主題分析法(Thematic Analysis)編Code

進行半結構式訪談(Semi-structured interview)，再進一步把結果分析出來

而quantitative research就是要做問卷，把上百份大家做的問卷用Excel導出來再Spss系統進行分析

由於我覺得Spss太難了

而且要找到上百人做問卷很麻煩

我也不想花錢找問卷公司幫我做上百份問卷

而我的導師也是對定性研究法很擅長，所以最後決定做定性研究

首先我的題目是

Exploring the Impact of User Generated Content on Establishing Brand Authenticity in the Cosmetic Industry

探討關於數位行銷方面的議題

使用主題分析法Thematic Analysis就是要把訪問出來的內容依照關鍵字進行分類Coding

我把內容分為五大類

Brand Authenticity- Brand Community- Ethical Consideration 等等

而訪問有一個很大的缺點

並不是所有受訪者都懂數位行銷領域

甚至他們所回答的內容和你所問的問題根本無關緊要

所以變成自己要漸進式的讓受訪者理解所問的問題並引導他們答出相關的答案

最後我的論文得到了Distinction的成績

全班平均60分我卻得到了75分撒花

所以我才想寫一篇小文章幫助在英國的台灣人

首先我先摘露出一小段

強調包容性與多元化策略能夠更好的符合多種族的需求

根據某位學者在2022年的研究中，也贊同這點

UGC strategy has a positive effect on... According to the research in 2022 by Wei Zhuang et al...

然而，根據訪問調查，過度強調包容性反而過猶不及

然後提出反的論點

However, some participants hold an opposite point of view.

“ABH employs inclusivity as a social media strategy, but they have not taken measures to protect the creators from abuse within the ABH Instagram community. While their posts feature individuals from diverse backgrounds, including ethnic minorities, disabled individuals, and LGBTQ, most of their posts are filled with hate comments, and ABH has not attempted to delete these comments.

However, excessive promotion of inclusivity can sometimes backfire, contrasting with Zhuang et al's (2023) argument. Improper management can lead to various negative issues, such as individuals potentially experiencing online harm

利用你做訪問所得出的結果

提出與之前學者不同的論點

並給出相關的佐證來支持的所得到的結論

再給另一個例子

Ａ受訪者說：廠商與Youtuber之間透明的合作能夠拼強品牌的真實性

“ transparent collaboration can increase the public's trust in UGC and enhance its authenticity.”

但是B受訪者卻提出不同的觀點

過度關注透明度實際上可能會導致策略操縱，從而削弱其品牌的真實性

因為品牌可能會選擇性的揭露對他有利的資訊以建立更完美的形象

進而削弱品牌真實性。
